Thirukoneswaram Temple, also known as Koneswaram Temple, is an ancient and sacred Hindu temple located in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple sits dramatically on Swami Rock, overlooking the Indian Ocean. It is considered one of the five ancient Shiva temples in Sri Lanka and has a history dating back thousands of years. The temple is famous for its beautiful Dravidian architecture, colorful sculptures, and breathtaking ocean views. Destroyed during the Portuguese period and later rebuilt, Thirukoneswaram remains an important spiritual and cultural landmark attracting thousands of devotees and visitors each year.
