Adam’s Peak

Sri Pada, also known as Adam’s Peak, is a sacred mountain located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Standing at about 2,243 meters above sea level, it is famous for the sacred footprint-like mark at its summit, which holds religious significance for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. Buddhists believe it is the footprint of Lord Buddha, while others associate it with different religious figures. Pilgrims and tourists climb the mountain, especially during the pilgrimage season from December to May, to witness the breathtaking sunrise known as the “Sri Pada sunrise.” The journey offers a spiritual experience combined with stunning views of misty mountains and forests.
